UEFA has handed down a series of disciplinary sanctions against clubs competing in this season's UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Conference League, with several sides facing stadium closures, behind-closed-doors matches and significant financial penalties following supporter misconduct.
The decisions, announced by the UEFA Appeals Body, relate to incidents during qualifying matches played on July 29 and 30.
Among the most severe punishments was imposed on Maccabi Tel-Aviv, which was fined €40,000 and ordered to play its next UEFA club competition home match behind closed doors after supporters lit pyrotechnics during the club's 1-0 UEFA Europa League victory over FC Sheriff Tiraspol.
In the UEFA Champions League, Lech Poznań received multiple sanctions following its 4-1 defeat to AGF Aarhus.
The Polish club was ordered to enforce a previously suspended partial stadium closure, affecting Tribuna II, from a UEFA Appeals Body decision issued in August 2025 after further pyrotechnic offences. UEFA also imposed a new €30,000 fine and another suspended partial closure of the same stand for two years.
Lech was additionally fined €15,000 after emergency exits and gates were found to have been locked while spectators were inside the stadium, and a further €15,000 for causing a delayed kick-off.
Head coach Niels Frederiksen was personally fined €5,000 and suspended for the club's next UEFA competition match for his responsibility in the delayed start.
Fellow Polish side Górnik Zabrze also received heavy sanctions following its 1-1 draw with Fenerbahçe.
UEFA fined the club €50,000 and ordered the closure of the entire South Stand for its next UEFA home fixture after finding supporters guilty of racist and discriminatory behaviour as well as lighting pyrotechnics.
The club was also fined €10,000 for displaying a banner deemed unfit for a sporting event and €8,000 for blocking public passageways.
In the UEFA Conference League, Hapoel Tel-Aviv was fined €35,000 after supporters lit pyrotechnics during a 2-2 draw away to Ludogorets.
UEFA also imposed a full ban on selling tickets to supporters for one future UEFA away match, although that sanction has been suspended for a two-year probationary period.
The Israeli club received an additional €5,000 fine for damage caused by supporters and has been instructed to contact Ludogorets within 30 days to compensate the Bulgarian club for damaged seats in the away section.
Meanwhile, Beitar Jerusalem was fined €25,000 following pyrotechnic offences during its 3-2 home defeat to AEK Larnaca.
UEFA also ordered Beitar to play its next UEFA home match behind closed doors, although that sanction has been suspended for one year.
UEFA noted that disciplinary measures placed under probation are not immediately enforced but may be activated if a club commits a similar offence during the probationary period, in accordance with Article 26(3) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.
