Raków Częstochowa handed €68,000 fine and stadium closure by UEFA

Raków Częstochowa have been hit with a total of €68,000 in fines and partial stadium closures following disciplinary proceedings over incidents during their UEFA Conference League match against Hammarby IF.

The UEFA Appeals Body (AB) announced its decision on 12 August following Raków's 0-0 draw with Hammarby on 6 August 2026.

The Polish club was charged with lighting pyrotechnics under Article 16(2)(c) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, as well as blocking public passageways under Article 38 of the UEFA Safety and Security Regulations.

The Appeals Body ordered the enforcement of a previously suspended disciplinary measure imposed by UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body on 22 April.

As a result, sectors B1 and B7 of Raków's stadium must be partially closed for the club's next UEFA competition match played at home.

The club has also been fined €60,000 for the use of pyrotechnics and handed an additional partial stadium closure covering sectors B1–B7 for one further UEFA club competition home match.

That additional stadium closure has been suspended for a two-year probationary period beginning from the date of the Appeals Body's decision.

Raków were further fined €8,000 for blocking public passageways, bringing the total financial penalty to €68,000.

Under UEFA's disciplinary regulations, a suspended sanction is not immediately enforced. However, it can be activated if the club commits another offence of a similar nature during the applicable probationary period.

The latest ruling means Raków will face restrictions on supporter attendance at their next UEFA home fixture, while the additional closure remains conditional on their disciplinary conduct over the next two years.

The sanctions come after the club's Conference League meeting with Hammarby ended goalless in Częstochowa on 6 August.
