AC Milan have been handed fines totalling €30,000 following their victory over Inter in the Derby della Madonnina, after Italian football authorities released disciplinary decisions from the latest round of Serie A fixtures.
The rulings were published on Tuesday by Serie A’s Sports Judge Gerardo Mastrandrea following matches played between 6 and 9 March during the ninth round of the second half of the season.
Milan were fined €22,000 for causing an unjustified two-minute delay at the start of the second half in their 1–0 win over Inter. The club received an additional €8,000 penalty after supporters directed repeated insulting chants at two Inter players and shone a laser pointer at an opposing player late in the first half.
Elsewhere, several clubs were sanctioned over crowd behaviour. Bologna were fined €3,000 after supporters threw three smoke bombs onto the pitch during their match with Hellas Verona, while Genoa and Lecce were each fined €2,000 after fans launched smoke bombs onto the field in their respective games.

Although supporters from Atalanta, Bologna, Cagliari, Genoa, Hellas Verona and Lecce were also reported to have used pyrotechnics inside stadiums, the Sports Judge opted not to impose additional sanctions after considering mitigating circumstances under the Italian Sporting Justice Code.
Five players were handed one-match suspensions after accumulating their fifth yellow card of the season:
Cremonese defender Giuseppe Pezzella received a one-match ban and a €10,000 fine for angrily confronting the referee and using disrespectful language at the end of his side’s defeat to Lecce.
In addition, Cagliari’s Marco Palestra was fined €2,000 and booked for simulation after attempting to win a penalty by pretending he had been fouled.

The round saw several notable results across the league. Juventus recorded the biggest win of the weekend with a 4–0 victory over Pisa, while Napoli defeated Torino 2–1 and Lazio edged Sassuolo 2–1.
Genoa produced one of the surprises of the round, beating Roma 2–1, while Como secured a 2–1 away win at Cagliari. Meanwhile Fiorentina and Parma played out a goalless draw.
All fines issued in the disciplinary ruling will be charged directly to the clubs’ league accounts, according to Serie A authorities.
