Chelsea's unexpected 3-0 triumph over Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final was overshadowed by ugly post-match scenes, culminating in a mass brawl on the pitch.
The match, which had already shown signs of tension, most notably when Joao Neves was shown a red card for pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair, boiled over just as the Blues prepared to celebrate their shock victory.

What began as a confrontation between PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and Chelsea’s Joao Pedro escalated rapidly. The pair exchanged heated words after a collision, and chaos ensued when PSG coach Luis Enrique intervened, appearing to strike Joao Pedro during the commotion.

The ill-tempered conclusion came after Chelsea put in a dominant performance. Cole Palmer fired two nearly identical goals inside the opening 30 minutes, setting the tone against the reigning European champions. Palmer then turned provider, setting up £60 million summer signing Joao Pedro for a third before halftime.

Despite their star-studded lineup, PSG couldn’t find a foothold in the second half, and tensions reached boiling point at full time. As Chelsea players celebrated, Joao Pedro reportedly confronted Enrique, triggering the dramatic scene.
Donnarumma then entered the fray, appearing to shove Pedro, who fell to the ground. The incident saw players from both teams converge in a flurry of shoves, yells, and flying tempers.

Adding to the mayhem, a member of PSG’s security staff also became embroiled in the clash, with several Chelsea players responding angrily. Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca was eventually able to restore some order, helping to remove Donnarumma from the scene and cooling tensions.
There was a second flare-up shortly afterward, but no further incidents of violence were reported. The night, which had promised to be a crowning moment for Chelsea, ended in an atmosphere of hostility and disorder.
