Several players will miss Matchday 4 of the 2026 MLS season through suspension after red cards were issued across the league, while clubs are also dealing with a lengthy injury list as the campaign begins to take shape.
Five players have been handed one-match suspensions following dismissals. Austin FC defender Guilherme Biro will be unavailable for his side’s trip to face Real Salt Lake on March 14 after being sent off for serious foul play. Houston Dynamo will be without two players for their home meeting with the Portland Timbers, as both Antonio Carlos and Agustín Bouzat were dismissed in their previous outing. Carlos received a red card for serious foul play, while Bouzat was sent off for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity.

LA Galaxy winger Gabriel Pec is also suspended after receiving a second caution in his side’s last match, ruling him out of the Galaxy’s clash with Sporting Kansas City. Orlando City goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau will miss Orlando’s game against CF Montréal after his dismissal for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity.
No players are currently one yellow card away from suspension under MLS’s caution accumulation rules.
Clubs across the league are also managing a growing list of injuries and absences early in the season. Atlanta United will be without Jay Fortune and Will Reilly, while Austin FC are missing several players including Robert Taylor, Brandon Vazquez and Owen Wolff, with defender Mikkel Desler listed as questionable.
Chicago Fire could be short-handed with André Franco, Andrew Gutman and Sam Rogers all sidelined, while forward Hugo Cuypers is among several players listed as questionable. FC Cincinnati will be without Kristian Fletcher, and Colorado Rapids goalkeeper Zack Steffen remains out with a shoulder injury.
Houston Dynamo are also dealing with injury issues beyond their suspensions, with Artur and Reese Miller unavailable and several others listed as doubtful. Sporting Kansas City have four players ruled out, while both LA Galaxy and Los Angeles FC continue to deal with defensive absences.
Inter Miami will be without Sergio Reguilón due to a knee injury, while Minnesota United have captain Michael Boxall sidelined and midfielder James Rodríguez listed as questionable with a contusion.
Getting set for another electric weekend of soccer. 🥳

Elsewhere, Real Salt Lake have one of the longest absence lists in the league with seven players unavailable, including Diego Luna and DeAndre Yedlin. Seattle Sounders are also heavily affected, missing several key players such as Pedro de la Vega and Jordan Morris.
Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps also face significant roster challenges, with multiple players unavailable through injury or other reasons.
With the season still in its early weeks, clubs across Major League Soccer are already being forced to rotate their squads as suspensions and injuries test depth ahead of the next round of fixtures.
