The Football Association (FA) has handed down a series of disciplinary decisions involving misconduct from clubs, managers, players, and staff across various leagues, including the National League, Northern Premier League, and youth competitions.
Mass Confrontation and Misconduct
Peterborough Sports FC and Radcliffe FC were each sanctioned following a post-match mass confrontation on 25 February 2025, resulting in fines of £500 and £800, respectively. Additionally, Radcliffe’s managerial duo, Anthony Johnson and Steve Halford, received three-match touchline bans and £200 fines for violent conduct.
Club-Level Fines
Several clubs were fined for failing to control their players:
- Hull City U18s and Swansea City U18s were fined £1,250 and £1,500 respectively following a mass confrontation.
- Everton U18s received the largest financial penalty, fined £6,000 for a similar offence against Reading U18s, who were fined £625.
- Scunthorpe United FC, Ilkeston Town FC, and Weymouth FC also faced sanctions for improper player behaviour.
Player Sanctions
Several players were suspended and fined for improper conduct:
- Joseph Walton (Hebburn Town), Callum Woodcock (Hanwell Town), and William Robert Lannin-Sweet (Arsenal U18) received fines and bans for abuse toward officials.
- Joe Bauress (Burnley U21) was fined £1,250 and handed a four-match suspension for violent conduct.
Betting Offences
A number of players, including Jamie Jellis (Walsall FC), Joel Daly (Horsham FC), and Lewis Macari (Notts County), were charged with breaching FA betting regulations. Investigations are ongoing, with responses pending.
Agent Regulation Breaches
Football agents Ben Williams and Jemeile Gordon were charged with breaches of agent regulations, including unauthorised dealings with minors and performing services without proper agreements.
Other Notable Cases
- An appeal by the FA concerning Accrington Stanley’s alleged use of an unregistered agent was dismissed.
- Scunthorpe United FC and Hemel Hempstead Town FC face potential sanctions for failing to control supporters' conduct, including incidents of offensive or discriminatory behaviour.
The FA reiterated its commitment to maintaining discipline and respect throughout all levels of English football, emphasizing strict enforcement of its rules.
