Celtic FC have confirmed that the suspension of the club’s ultra supporter group, the Green Brigade, will be lifted in time for Saturday’s match against St Mirren FC, following an agreement with local authorities.
The decision comes after discussions at a March 27 meeting of the Glasgow City Council Safety Advisory Group, where the club sought to resolve the ongoing suspension. The group confirmed it had no objection to reinstating the Green Brigade, provided three key conditions were met.
These conditions include strict adherence to all applicable club policies, including season ticket terms and conditions; full compliance with stadium safety and security operations; and the submission of match-by-match reports to the advisory group for as long as deemed necessary.
We are delighted that the unjust ban of the Green Brigade has now been lifted, but this vindictive saga has been extremely damaging and unnecessary. https://t.co/GIzTEPPCJa

Celtic confirmed that these requirements were communicated to the Green Brigade, who have now accepted them in full, clearing the way for their return.
Interim chairman Brian Wilson welcomed the breakthrough, highlighting the importance of unity as the season reaches a decisive stage.
“I am pleased we have reached this point where suspensions can be lifted with the agreement of the Safety Advisory Group on terms which apply to supporters throughout the stadium,” Wilson said.
“On that basis, a full and united Celtic Park can get behind the team at this crucial point in the season.”

In December, Celtic announced an extension of the suspension of the Green Brigade supporters’ group following a series of safety incidents. These incidents include direct threats made against the club’s Head of Safety and Security Operations and concerns over safety in the rail seating section. The suspension will remain in place until the club is confident that the group will comply with safety requirements necessary for the continued operation of that section of the stadium.
The return of the Green Brigade is expected to restore a key element of atmosphere at Celtic Park, with the club pushing towards its end-of-season objectives.
