Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann celebrated his 500th Bundesliga appearance in fitting style on Saturday, gifting 500 litres of beer to supporters after his side’s 3-0 win over Augsburg.
The 35-year-old reached the landmark last weekend during Hoffenheim’s 1-1 draw with Mainz, but with that match played away from home, the celebrations were delayed. Matchday 12 provided the perfect stage instead, with Baumann’s achievement honoured ahead of his 501st outing as Hoffenheim cruised to victory at the PreZero Arena.

After the final whistle, Baumann climbed into the stands to applaud and celebrate with the home faithful. But the real surprise came outside the stadium, where a special fan tent had been set up for the occasion. The Germany international personally visited supporters there, presenting the 500-litre beer donation as a thank-you for their loyalty.
“I can’t drink anything but there’s a little something for you,” Baumann joked. “500 litres of beer as my way of saying thank you for all your support over the years, like at home today but also away. Let loose!”
The gesture capped a memorable afternoon for both the Hoffenheim captain and the fans who have backed him throughout his remarkable Bundesliga journey.
