Pep Guardiola has admitted he is unsure when Erling Haaland will return from injury but remains hopeful the striker could be back in time for Manchester City’s upcoming fixtures against Nottingham Forest F.C. and Newcastle United F.C..
Haaland missed City’s latest outing against Leeds United F.C. after picking up a knock in training on the eve of the clash at Elland Road. The Norwegian was deemed unfit to feature, leaving City without the Premier League’s leading goalscorer.
City return to action on Wednesday night when they host Forest at the Etihad Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 19:30 (UK). Attention then quickly shifts to the FA Cup, as Guardiola’s side travel to St James’ Park to face Newcastle on Saturday at 20:00 (UK).

Speaking after the match against Leeds, Guardiola offered a cautious update on his star forward’s condition.
“I don’t have any answer right now,” the City manager said. “So he was not ready for today, but we have four days before Nottingham Forest and after, three days to the FA Cup at Newcastle at 8pm.”
The tight turnaround leaves City in a race against time to have their talisman fit for a pivotal week in both domestic competitions. Haaland’s presence would provide a significant boost as City look to maintain momentum in the league and continue their pursuit of silverware in the FA Cup.
For now, Guardiola and City supporters alike must wait on further assessments, with the hope that the prolific striker can recover in time to lead the line in the days ahead.
