Netflix has announced it will launch a newly reimagined FIFA football simulation game in time for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, giving fans a new way to engage with the tournament through Netflix Games.
Developed and published by Delphi Interactive in partnership with FIFA, the game will be available exclusively to Netflix members at no additional cost. Designed to be fast-paced and accessible, the title aims to capture the drama and emotion of the World Cup in a format that is easy to learn but challenging to master. Players will be able to compete solo or online with friends, with gameplay accessible using just a Netflix subscription and a mobile phone.
Netflix said the game is intended to bring football gaming back to its roots by removing barriers to entry and focusing on fun and immediacy. Alain Tascan, President of Games at Netflix, described the World Cup as “the cultural event of 2026” and said the company wants fans to celebrate their passion for football by bringing the game directly into their homes. “We want to bring football back to its roots with something everyone can play with just the touch of a button,” Tascan said.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino hailed the collaboration as a significant step in the organisation’s digital strategy. He said the partnership with Netflix Games and Delphi Interactive reflects FIFA’s ambition to innovate in football gaming and reach fans of all ages around the world. Infantino described the project as the beginning of “a new era of digital football”, adding that the game’s free availability to Netflix members marks a historic milestone for FIFA.
Delphi Interactive’s leadership echoed those sentiments, highlighting the global appeal of both football and the FIFA brand. Founder and CEO Casper Daugaard said the studio’s goal is to create “the most fun, approachable, and global football game ever created”, while company president Andy Kleinman said the team is working to deliver a game that allows anyone, anywhere, to instantly experience the magic of the sport.
The new FIFA title will also form part of Netflix’s expanding games offering on television. Netflix members will be able to find the game alongside movies and TV series, using their mobile phones as controllers to play directly on their TVs. Netflix said the move reflects its broader ambition to turn the platform into an interactive entertainment hub as the World Cup approaches.
