Tensions reached a boiling point at Sevilla FC on Saturday night after an enraged group of supporters stormed the club’s training complex following a crushing 3-2 loss to 10-man Celta Vigo. The defeat, Sevilla’s 15th of the season, has left the team languishing in 16th place, just six points above LaLiga’s relegation zone with only three matches remaining.
Frustrated by their club’s ongoing decline, hundreds of fans gathered outside the Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios upon the team’s return. A faction of the crowd reportedly broke through a metal vehicle gate, breaching the perimeter and prompting an emergency response from law enforcement.
According to Spanish outlet Cadena SER, police deployed rubber bullets to disperse the most aggressive individuals. By midnight, the area had been cleared, and no injuries were reported.

In a statement, Sevilla confirmed the intrusion and announced that players would remain overnight at the training facility for safety reasons and to prepare for their upcoming fixture. The squad is set to resume training on Sunday ahead of a critical home clash against fellow strugglers Las Palmas on Tuesday.
The Andalusian club, a seven-time Europa League champion, has endured a season marred by financial difficulties, poor performances, and a recent managerial shake-up. Head coach Francisco García Pimienta was dismissed in April, with veteran Joaquín Caparrós stepping in as caretaker for the remainder of the campaign.
As fans demand accountability and the team fights for survival, Sevilla faces one of the most precarious finales to a season in recent memory.
