Inter’s emphatic 5–0 away win at Sassuolo headlined the fifth round of second-half Serie A fixtures, as the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) also confirmed a series of fines and suspensions following the weekend’s action.
The matchday, played between 6 and 9 February, produced several high-profile results, including Napoli’s 3–2 victory at Genoa and a 2–2 draw between Juventus and Lazio in Turin. Roma maintained their push in the standings with a comfortable 2–0 home win over Cagliari, while Atalanta edged Cremonese 2–1.
Elsewhere, Parma claimed a 1–0 win away to Bologna, Fiorentina and Torino shared the points in a 2–2 draw, Lecce defeated Udinese 2–1, and Hellas Verona were held to a goalless draw by Pisa.

Away from the pitch, the Serie A Sports Judge, Dr Gerardo Mastrandrea, imposed sanctions on several clubs for supporter misconduct. Genoa were fined €15,000 after their supporters threw coins towards an assistant referee during the first half, with two objects striking the official. Lecce received a €10,000 fine for fireworks and objects being thrown onto the pitch, while Roma were fined €5,000 following an offensive chant aimed at an opposing fanbase. Bologna were also fined €2,000 for similar incidents.
Although supporters of multiple clubs used pyrotechnics during the round of fixtures, no additional penalties were issued after mitigating circumstances were applied under the Code of Sports Justice.
On the disciplinary front, Sassuolo midfielder Nemanja Matić was handed a two-match suspension and a €10,000 fine for repeated protests towards match officials and for directing an offensive remark at the referee after being booked. The former Serbia international had already been on four cautions this season.
Parma defender Mariano Troilo received a one-match ban and a €2,000 fine after being sent off for a second booking and delaying his departure from the field while continuing to protest.

Napoli defender Juan Jesus and Bologna midfielder Tommaso Pobega were both suspended for one match following red cards, while Lecce’s Lameck Banda, Pisa’s Marius Marin and Lazio’s Alessio Romagnoli will also miss the next round after reaching the five-booking threshold.
Fiorentina head coach Paolo Vanoli and Torino’s Marco Baroni were cautioned, taking them to their third and second disciplinary sanctions of the campaign respectively.
All fines will be charged to the clubs’ Serie A league accounts. The FIGC confirmed the decisions in an official statement published in Milan on 10 February.
