The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has opened proceedings against Manuel Arias Corco, President of the Panamanian Football Association, for a potential breach of article 21 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. The case concerns the alleged failure to comply with a decision by the adjudicatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee, which had previously banned Arias from taking part in any football-related activity for six months.
The initial ban was imposed following separate proceedings in which the adjudicatory chamber sanctioned three individuals for misconduct in football. Arias was found to have breached article 24, paragraphs 1 and 2, of the FIFA Code of Ethics — which relates to the protection of physical and mental integrity — after making derogatory comments about members of Panama’s national team.

As a result, he was prohibited from engaging in football activities for six months and fined CHF 10,000. The Ethics Committee stated the decision was made “upon careful analysis of both the evidence provided before the adjudicatory chamber and the evidence collected during the investigations conducted by the investigatory chamber.”
The committee confirmed it “will provide further details on the proceedings in due course.”
