Kylian Mbappé’s dramatic split from Paris Saint-Germain has taken a fresh turn, with the Paris prosecutor’s office confirming that the French superstar has filed a legal complaint against his former club, accusing them of “moral harassment.”
According to the complaint, Mbappé is seeking €55 million (approximately $61 million) in unpaid wages from PSG. The Real Madrid forward is also challenging the treatment he received from the Ligue 1 champions in the summer of 2023, when he was excluded from the squad after refusing to trigger an optional one-year extension in his contract.
The prosecutor’s office stated that Mbappé is “denouncing the ‘lofting’ he claimed to have been subjected to at Paris Saint-Germain.” The term “lofting” in France refers to the practice of separating a player from the main group for reasons that may be disciplinary, administrative, or tactical.

After seven seasons at PSG, where he scored a club-record 256 goals, Mbappé left for Real Madrid on a free transfer last summer. Ironically, PSG secured their first Champions League title the same year, but without their former talisman.
The player’s final months at PSG were marred by growing tension. Supporters at Parc des Princes jeered him during his final appearance for the club. PSG had extended a record-breaking contract to Mbappé in 2022 in a bid to retain him, but the forward reportedly became disillusioned when promised reinforcements failed to materialize.
Back in April, Mbappé’s legal team indicated plans to pursue action against PSG over what they described as harassment. That plan has now come to fruition.
The dispute underscores the bitter end to a once-glittering chapter in Mbappé’s career at PSG. Now firmly established at Real Madrid, the French international is letting the courts handle the fallout from a feud that may yet have more chapters to come.
