Liverpool FC has introduced enhanced matchday security measures at Anfield, with all adult supporters now subject to searches before entering the stadium for every home fixture.
Under the updated safety operation, searches will apply across both general admission and hospitality areas. The club says the change reflects industry best practice at major sporting events, concerts and among Premier League clubs, and is designed to ensure Anfield remains a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors.
Supporters attending matches are being encouraged to arrive at turnstiles around 10 minutes earlier than usual to allow for the additional checks. Turnstiles at Anfield open two hours before kick-off for general admission ticket holders and three hours before kick-off for hospitality guests.

To help speed up the entry process, fans are advised to remove items such as keys and mobile phones from their pockets before reaching the turnstiles.
Liverpool FC stressed that supporter safety remains its top priority and confirmed it continues to work closely with Merseyside Police and other partner agencies on matchday operations. The club is also reviewing the new procedures alongside supporter groups, including Spirit of Shankly and the Liverpool Disabled Supporters Association, to identify further efficiencies while maintaining safety standards.
The club has thanked fans for their cooperation and has asked supporters to follow the guidance of stewards and staff, stressing the importance of mutual respect as the new measures are rolled out.
