The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) has confirmed a series of disciplinary sanctions following its latest commission meeting on Wednesday, with several Ligue 1 players and coaching staff punished after recent fixtures.
Leading the list of suspensions is Nicolás Tagliafico of Olympique Lyonnais, who has been handed a three-match ban, the most severe sanction announced. The Argentine defender will be a significant absentee for Lyon as they look to stabilise their league campaign.

A two-match suspension has been issued to Youssuf Ndayishimiye of OGC Nice, while Donovan Léon (AJ Auxerre) and Rudy Matondo (Paris FC) have each received one-match bans.
In addition, four players have been suspended for one match due to the accumulation of yellow cards or the activation of previously suspended sanctions. These include Mason Greenwood of Olympique de Marseille, Santiago Hidalgo (Toulouse FC), Anthony Rouault (Stade Rennais FC), and Alpha Touré of FC Metz. These suspensions will come into effect from March 31, 2026.
The disciplinary action also extended to the touchline, following heated scenes during Lyon’s Matchday 27 clash against AS Monaco. Assistant coach Jorge Maciel of Lyon and Monaco head coach Sébastien Pocognoli were both dismissed during the match.

As a result, both coaches have been handed one-match bans from the touchline, referees’ dressing rooms, and all official duties, underlining the LFP’s continued focus on maintaining discipline among coaching staff as well as players.
The latest sanctions highlight a firm stance from French football authorities as the season enters a निर्ण्ing phase, with clubs now forced to navigate key fixtures without several influential figures.
