LALIGA has completed its latest domestic broadcast rights tender, securing more than €6.135 billion for the 2027/28 to 2031/32 cycle, an overall increase of 9% compared with the current cycle. The new figures reflect continued growth across all audiovisual categories, despite a challenging global market in which many sports properties are experiencing declines.
The centrepiece of the tender is the residential broadcasting package for LALIGA EA SPORTS (first division), which exceeded €5.25 billion over five seasons, up 6% from the €4.95 billion generated in the 2022–2027 cycle. Telefónica and DAZN will continue as the league’s main domestic partners, each broadcasting five matches per matchday.
Beyond residential rights, LALIGA reported strong gains in complementary segments. Revenue from commercial premises (HORECA) is expected to rise from €500 million to nearly €650 million, a 30% increase. Rights for LALIGA HYPERMOTION (second division) will climb from €125 million to around €175 million, up 40%. Free-to-air broadcasts and highlights packages add a further €60 million.
Together, these categories bring LALIGA’s total domestic audiovisual value for the next cycle to €6.135 billion.

LALIGA president Javier Tebas praised the result, calling it a significant achievement amid a “complex domestic and international landscape.”
“Securing over €6.135 billion in domestic rights and overall growth of more than €500 million is excellent news for the financial sustainability of our clubs and the future of Spanish professional football,” Tebas said. “At a time when many leagues are seeing declining media values, LALIGA’s continued growth is especially significant. This reflects the strength of our product, the trust of broadcasters, our fight against piracy, and the clubs’ commitment to improving audiovisual content and the fan experience.”
LALIGA attributes the tender’s success to a strategy built on three pillars: ongoing improvement of the audiovisual product through technology and club participation; a robust anti-piracy initiative that has protected revenue streams; and early planning aligned with UEFA’s commercial calendar, helping avoid the downturns faced by other European competitions.
