FC Barcelona has officially been re-admitted as an Ordinary Member of European Football Clubs (EFC), marking a significant step in the club’s renewed alignment with the wider European football community.
The Catalan giants confirmed they had received formal communication from the organisation approving their reinstatement. The decision follows Barcelona’s move to terminate its relationship with the European Super League Company and formally apply for re-admission to EFC.
According to the statement, the EFC Board unanimously approved Barcelona’s return in accordance with the organisation’s statutes. The club’s application was personally presented to the Board by EFC Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaïfi during a meeting held earlier today.
The communication reportedly highlighted the decisive role played by Barcelona president Joan Laporta in facilitating the club’s return. Laporta was credited with taking a proactive approach to restoring relations between Barcelona and EFC, helping pave the way for the agreement.

Barcelona acknowledged Laporta’s “clear predisposition and proactive commitment” in repairing ties, describing his involvement as instrumental in achieving the club’s reinstatement.
EFC expressed its satisfaction and honour in welcoming Barcelona back as an Ordinary Member and indicated its willingness to work closely with the club to define its role within the organisation during this new phase.
For Barcelona, the decision represents a positive development after a period of uncertainty linked to the European Super League project. The club reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with fellow European clubs for the benefit of the game, its competitions and supporters.
The reinstatement signals a renewed period of cooperation between Barcelona and Europe’s leading clubs as the organisation continues to shape the future of continental football governance.
