Burnley’s Hannibal Mejbri has been charged with misconduct by the English Football Association following allegations that he spat toward Leeds United supporters during last month’s Premier League fixture at Turf Moor.
The incident is said to have occurred in the 67th minute of Burnley’s 2-0 home victory over Leeds on October 18. Mejbri, who was on the bench at the time, later entered the match as a substitute in the 83rd minute and was booked shortly afterward following a confrontation with Leeds defender Gabriel Gudmundsson.
An FA spokesperson confirmed: "Hannibal Mejbri has until Friday 28 November to provide a response."

In its official statement, the governing body said: "It's alleged that the player acted in breach of the Laws of the Game and/or in an improper manner and/or used abusive and/or indecent behaviour by spitting at or in the direction of Leeds United supporters ..."
The 22-year-old Tunisia international joined Burnley from Manchester United last year and has featured regularly for the Clarets this season. He now faces the possibility of disciplinary action if found guilty of the charge.
Promoted Burnley, currently sitting 17th in the Premier League table with 10 points from 11 matches, will return to action on November 22 when they host third-placed Chelsea following the international break.
