Azerbaijani club PFK Turan Tovuz has been ruled ineligible to participate in the 2026/27 UEFA Conference League after failing to meet one of UEFA's admission criteria related to match integrity.
UEFA announced on Wednesday that the Chair of the UEFA Appeals Body had issued a decision on 2 June declaring the club ineligible for next season's competition.
According to the ruling, Turan Tovuz failed to satisfy Article 4.01(g) of the UEFA Conference League regulations, which requires clubs to demonstrate they have not been directly or indirectly involved in activities aimed at arranging or influencing the outcome of matches at either national or international level.
The decision means the Azerbaijani side will be excluded from the 2026/27 UEFA Conference League despite having qualified for the competition through domestic sporting results.
UEFA did not provide further details regarding the specific activities that led to the club's exclusion. The governing body also did not announce whether another club would replace Turan Tovuz in the competition.
Article 4.01(g) forms part of UEFA's integrity framework designed to protect European football from match-fixing and other forms of manipulation. Clubs seeking admission to UEFA competitions must meet a range of sporting, administrative and integrity-related requirements before being granted entry.
The ruling represents a significant setback for Turan Tovuz, which had been set to compete on the European stage during the upcoming season.
Further information regarding the implementation of the decision and any potential appeals has not yet been announced.
