A number of Premier League matches during February and March of the 2025/26 season could be rescheduled due to clubs’ involvement in UEFA competitions, the FA Cup and the EFL Cup.
The Premier League has confirmed that while all fixtures remain provisional, several televised matches are already subject to possible movement depending on results in cup competitions and European knockout rounds.
The first potential change comes on Thursday 12 February, when Brentford host Arsenal in a TNT Sports live fixture. That match would move to Wednesday 11 February should either side reach the FA Cup fourth round and be drawn against a club playing in the Champions League knockout play-offs the following Tuesday.
On Saturday 21 February, Manchester City’s home game against Newcastle, scheduled for a 12:30 kick-off, could be pushed back to 20:00 GMT if either club is required to play a Champions League knockout play-off away from home in midweek.
Further uncertainty surrounds Wolves v Aston Villa on Friday 27 February. The match would be moved to Sunday 1 March if Villa progress to the Europa League knockout play-off round.
If your club could have signed any Premier League player from the past, who would you choose? 🔮

A similar knock-on effect could impact Wolves v Liverpool on Tuesday 3 March, which would shift to the following evening should Aston Villa be in Europa League action on 26 February.
European commitments may also affect matches later in March. West Ham v Manchester City on 14 March could be moved to an evening kick-off if City are away in the Champions League earlier that week, while Brighton v Liverpoolon 21 March would follow the same pattern if Liverpool are travelling in Europe.
Several fixtures on Saturday 21 March are linked to the EFL Cup final. Wolves v Arsenal and Everton v Chelsea could both be brought forward to midweek should Arsenal or Chelsea reach the final, while the kick-off time for Leeds v Brentford remains subject to confirmation depending on wider scheduling outcomes.
Finally, the Tyne-Wear derby between Newcastle and Sunderland, scheduled for Sunday 22 March, is also provisional and may be affected if Newcastle reach the EFL Cup final on the same day.
Supporters are advised to await final confirmation, with some decisions expected to be made as late as early March once cup and European fixtures are resolved.
