FIFA has revealed that 2025 was a historic year for international football transfers, with a record 86,158 moves completed worldwide, according to the newly published Global Transfer Report 2025.
Spending on men’s professional football transfers also reached an all-time high, with clubs investing USD 13.08 billion in international transfer fees—a new benchmark for the sport.
The report also highlights the continued growth of women’s football, which saw 2,440 transfers, up 6.3% from 2024. Total spending on women’s transfers surged to USD 28.6 million, representing an increase of over 80% compared to the previous year, reflecting the rising investment and interest in the women’s game.

In addition to the report, FIFA launched an interactive Global Transfer Report website, allowing fans, analysts, and clubs to explore detailed transfer data and trends for associations worldwide.
FIFA’s report underscores the increasing globalization of football, with transfers connecting clubs, players, and markets across continents more than ever before.
