An independent Regulatory Commission has sanctioned Plymouth Argyle and Stevenage FC following a mass confrontation that erupted after the final whistle of their EFL League One fixture on 17 March.
The incident, which took place at the conclusion of a heated contest, prompted an investigation into the conduct of both clubs. It was alleged that the teams failed to ensure their players and officials did not behave in an improper or provocative manner during the post-match scenes.
According to the findings, Plymouth Argyle admitted the charge, while Stevenage denied the allegation. However, the Commission ultimately ruled that the charge against Stevenage was proven.
As a result, Plymouth Argyle have been fined £31,875, while Stevenage have received a £12,500 penalty.
The sanctions underline the governing body’s continued efforts to enforce discipline and maintain standards of conduct across English football, particularly in high-intensity situations at the end of matches.
