Atalanta have been fined €3,000 following disciplinary findings arising from their Coppa Italia Frecciarossa semi-final second leg against Lazio, according to an official statement issued by the sporting judge on 23 April 2026.
The sanction comes after supporters of both Atalanta and Inter were found to have introduced and used pyrotechnic devices, including firecrackers, smoke bombs and flares, during the semi-final fixtures played on 21–22 April.
In Atalanta’s case, the disciplinary report specifically cited an incident in the 41st minute of the second half of their 3–2 defeat to Lazio after penalties, when fans threw a smoke bomb onto the pitch and another into the playing area. The governing body said the punishment was mitigated under relevant disciplinary provisions.
Despite noting the incidents, the sporting judge opted not to impose broader sanctions on Atalanta or Inter beyond the financial penalty in Atalanta’s case, citing mitigating circumstances under the competition’s disciplinary code.

On the pitch, Lazio progressed to the Coppa Italia final after a dramatic victory over Atalanta in Bergamo, while Inter also booked their place with a 3–2 win over Como in the other semi-final.
Disciplinary action was also handed down to several players following the matches. Matteo Cancellieri, Sead Kolašinac, Manuel Lazzari, Máximo Perrone Rodríguez and Gianluca Scamacca were all shown yellow cards for unsporting behaviour towards opponents.
On the touchline, Atalanta head coach Raffaele Palladino and Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri were each handed one-match suspensions after accumulating disciplinary warnings.
All fines will be charged to the respective clubs’ league accounts, the statement confirmed.
The Coppa Italia final lineup is now confirmed following the conclusion of the semi-final second legs, with Lazio advancing at Atalanta’s expense and Inter overcoming Como in a closely contested tie.
